Cozy Beginnings in 2026!
Hi friends 🤍
If you’re new here — welcome. I’m Julia, the hands and heart behind Threads by Julia, and I’m so thankful you’re here. As we move through 2026, I wanted to slow down for a moment and share a little update from behind the scenes.
Lately, things have felt kinda bleh. I feel like we get through the holiday season and BAM! January is here, and it’s the dead of winter. It’s a great time for reflection of the past year, and usually this is when people want to set new year’s resolutions. I have goals, not necessarily resolutions (I’ll get on a soapbox about New Year’s Resolutions). However, bleh January is for the 45th day in a row, I’m trying to push through. This season has been gently shaping how I show up — both creatively and personally.
Before jumping ahead, I want to look back on 2025 for this little business.
Some moments from the past season that I’m especially grateful for:
Rebranding my business! I still can’t thank Sophie from @simplysophiedesgins enough for her work and thoughtfulness with my project! It’s almost been a year to the day I started to really invest in my brand identitify and it has paid off!
Record year for sales- and my biggest order(s) yet! I’m not going to put the amount of money I made (because really I didn’t profit much— it goes right back to the business), but I am incredibly proud that I sold many items EVERY MONTH last year.
I PAID OFF MY MACHINE! In 2024, I invested in a 6-needle embroidery machine, something I thought I might purchase when I retired because it’s a HUGE investment. I pushed myself to pay no interest, so that 18 months of torture is over— all thanks to you guys and the support you’ve shown my business!
What’s Happening at Threads by Julia
Right now, here’s what’s going on in the shop:
🤍 New or returning designs: Cozy Homebody Sweatshirt and More is in the shop now! Check it out in the SHOP tab above.
🤍 Custom embroidery updates: ALL CUSTOM ORDERS HAVE BEEN FULFILLED. If you have reached out for a Custom Order for this year, please reach out again! I have a form on the customs page
🤍 Shop hours/order timelines: I am hoping for a 2-week turnaround for orders from collections; Customs will still have a 4-6 week turnaround time
One thing I’m really loving right now is ROM-COMS (I mean, I’ve always loved them). It feels especially on‑brand for this cozy season. Have yall see People We Meet on Vacation?? I might drop another book collection just for Emily Henry!
Looking Ahead in 2026
As this year continues, my hopes for Threads by Julia include (you’ve seen these if you saw my last social post):
More consistency! I’m trying to really follow a schedule (yay for handwritten planners) with posting and keeping y’all in the loop! Also, shipping orders more quickly (y’all are patient people). Customs will still have at least a 4-week turnaround, but hoping for a two-week turnaround for everything else!
Growth! And now I don’t mean in followers (but that’s always the goal), but growth in how many people are engaging with content and maybe even purchasing!
Sell at a small coffee shop! This seems silly, but after doing my first craft fair, I’m feeling more confident in selling in person!
Be authentic! It’s very hard not to compare to other creators and small businesses and do things like them, but it’s always a good reminder!
A Heartfelt Thank You
Running a small business alongside everyday life means a lot is happening behind the scenes. Some days are full and productive, others are slower and quieter — and both are important.
If there’s one thing I hope you know, it’s this: your support truly matters. Every order, message, share, and kind word allows me to keep creating pieces that are stitched with intention and love.
